An alternative tour to the Vinicunca Mountain of Colors is the Palccoyo Mountain of Colors. Ideal for those travelers who do not want to take long walks but want to see this beautiful colorful mountain.

Palccoyo is another of the most popular tourist attractions among travelers, its varied colors attract the attention of all people who love nature and unique landscapes.

To get to Palccoyo requires a regular walk, so it is necessary to spend a few days in Cusco, be able to take short walks or take a half-day tour; in order to acclimatize to cold climates.

We recommend you visit the mountain in the dry season, which is from April to December. During these months you will be able to get a better view of the colorful mountain and its entire landscape.

Itinerary

Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco at 7:00 in the morning. In our private transport we will take you through the South Valley of Cusco to the town of Checacupe. This beautiful town houses a colonial church and a bridge very similar to that of Q’eswachaca, here we will stop at a store so you can buy things necessary for the walk.

During the tour of approximately 45 minutes you will be able to see intact Andean communities. We will also pass through the stone forest, a peculiar and very striking place.

Upon reaching the mountain you will be able to see the Pico del Ausangate more closely, an imposing mountain that dominates the southern horizon of Cusco. After touring this mountain with our guide who will give you more information about this place and the communities that surround it, we will begin the return trip.

Upon arrival at the starting point of the walk, you will board our private transport and return to Checacupe. Here we will stop for lunch. Finally we will return to the city of Cusco. We will leave you at your accommodation.
