The tour for 4 days is a unique experience with impressive views of the Andean landscapes. You will be surrounded by Andean mountains, exuberant vegetation and a variety of animals. Itinerary

Day 1Cusco - KM82 - Wayllabamba - Ayapata

Your Inca Trail journey with Tupac Adventures begins with a personalized pick-up tailored to your stay. If you’re in Cusco, anticipate a prompt pick-up around 4:30 AM, allowing for a serene start to your day. For those nestled in the Sacred Valley, like Urubamba or Ollantaytambo, the pick-up extends to a more leisurely after 6:30 a.m., ensuring you start your adventure well-rested. These precise timings will be confirmed during your briefing, recognizing the fluidity based on your specific location.

Following a nutritious and diverse breakfast at a charming local restaurant in Ollantaytambo, your guide will introduce you to the dedicated team of porters upon our arrival at Km 82, marking the beginning of our journey along the Inca Trail. Ensure you have your original passport ready for the Inca Trail entry, unlocking the gates to this historic pathway.

The initial 3 hours of the trek offer a gentle introduction as we journey to the ancient Inca checkpoint, Patallacta, nestled amidst mountains and rivers. From Patallacta, a 1.5-hour hike takes us to our lunch stop, followed by another 2½-hour trek to the first night’s campsite at Ayapata (3300 meters). En route, we traverse two small communities, offering opportunities to acquire any needed supplies.

Arriving at the campsite by 5:00 PM, settle in and enjoy a hot beverage and snack amid breathtaking views. By 7:00 PM, a well-deserved dinner awaits, providing nourishment and marking the end of an enriching day. Tupac Adventures invites you to relax, connect with your team, and immerse yourself in the magic of the Inca Trail.

Day 2Ayapata - Dead Woman´s Pass - Pacaymayu- Runcuraccay Pass - Chaquiccocha

Awaken to the crisp Andean morning as our team delivers a steaming cup of coffee or coca tea directly to your tent. Today marks the pinnacle of the 4-day journey to Machu Picchu, and after a hearty breakfast, we embark on a 4-hour ascent to Dead Woman’s Pass (4215m / 13829ft), the highest point along the Machu Picchu Inca Trail Trek. At the summit, indulge in a refreshing coca tea, relishing the tranquility of this elevated sanctuary. Simultaneously, your guide performs a traditional offering ceremony to the Apus (local Gods). Immerse yourself in the panoramic views before beginning a 2-hour descent to the serene Pacaymayo Alto Valley, where a well-deserved lunch awaits.

Post-lunch, the second mountain presents a more manageable 2-hour climb to Runkuraqay Pass (4000m / 13123ft). En route, explore two Inca sites: Runkuraqayay and Sayacmarca. The day culminates at our second campsite, Chaquicocha (dry lake, 3600m / 11811 ft.), offering a breathtaking sunset over the Vilcabamba mountain range before a satisfying dinner. This campsite doubles as an ideal locale for stargazing, providing an unobstructed view of the mesmerizing constellations. As night falls, Tupac Adventures invites you to connect with the celestial wonders above.

Day 3Chaqui Cocha - Phuyupatamarca - Wiñayhuayna

As dawn breaks on Day 3, our adventure enters its enchanting phase. Rising at 6:00 am, we navigate “Inca flat” terrain for 2 hours, immersing in the Cloud Forest’s mystique. Behold Salkantay’s grandeur and the Vilcabamba range panorama. Ascending to Phuyupatamarka’s peak (3600m), gaze upon the Urubamba River below. The 3-hour descent reveals Machu Picchu Mountain’s first glimpse.

Our final destination, Wiñay Wayna’s campsite, welcomes us with a lunch at 1:00 pm. The 5-hour hike is diverse, traversing ecosystems, the cloud forest’s ambience, and offering Salkantay’s panoramic view. Visiting Phuyupatamarca (City in the Clouds) and Intipata (Terraces of the Sun), we soak in history and natural beauty.

After lunch, unwind, explore, or visit the Inca site of Wiñay Wayna. Return for tea, dinner, and a farewell surprise, marking the eve of our Machu Picchu ascent.

Day 4Wiñayhuayna - Machu Picchu - Cusco

As dawn breaks on our final day, anticipation fills the air. Rising at 3:30 AM, breakfast at 4:00 AM precedes our journey to the checkpoint, eager to commence trekking when the gates open at 5:30 AM. Bid farewell to our dedicated team, and with a resolute “Forward On,” we embark on the path to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku).

Reaching the Sun Gate by 6:30 AM, we’re greeted by panoramic views of majestic mountains and Machu Picchu in its full glory. A one-hour descent brings us to the fabled Lost City of the Incas, where, as we draw nearer, the splendor of Machu Picchu unfolds. At 7:40 AM, we pass the final checkpoint, entering Machu Picchu for a private guided tour lasting 2 hours. Post-tour, you receive bus tickets for your descent to Aguas Calientes, offering ample free time to explore or ascend Huayna Picchu if arranged in advance.

Opt for a final lunch in Aguas Calientes (not included) as your guide hands out train tickets. The Expedition class train departs around 3:00 PM, ensuring you’re on the platform 30 minutes ahead. A 2-hour journey to Ollantaytambo follows, where our driver awaits, driving you back to the city on our bus, concluding the adventure at your hotel by approximately 7:30 PM.
