Architecturally similar to the city of Cusco is Huchuy Qosqo, an Inca Archaeological site located in the town of Calca. It is believed that this Inca enclosure was built by the Inca Wiracocha so that he could rest during his old age, this would be a place of peace and tranquility.
Huchuy Qosqo means “Little Cusco” but it also receives various denominations such as “Qaqyaqawana” whose meaning refers to the place where the lightning is seen. This enclosure shows the impressive terrace work carried out by the Incas on the edge of precipices and ravines over the Vilcanota Valley. The materials used for the construction of this enclosure were stone and adobe, materials with which they achieved a fine and very resistant finish that is still preserved despite inclement weather and seismic movements.
During this tour you will learn more about this great Inca site and all its mysterious constructions. We recommend you spend a few days in Cusco and be in a position to go hiking.
