Tour Details

Cusco, capital of the Inca civilization. It comes from “Cuzco” in Quechua, which means “Navel of the world”. It is one of the most visited cities by tourists. Its streets and its historic center keep information on its walls of the history of Cusco.

Within its territory it houses impressive archaeological sites to behold. Imposing stones carved and fitted perfectly with each other; in addition to beautiful cathedrals in the baroque style. All this and more you will find in Sacsayhuaman, Qoricancha, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.

This tour is ideal for those travelers who will later take the tour to Machu Picchu, the Mountain of 7 Colors or other natural attractions, as it will help them acclimatize to the cold weather.

Itinerary

Half DayCathedral of Cusco - Qoricancha - Sacsayhuaman - Qenqo - Puca Pucara - Tambomachay

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco. We will start the tour in the Cathedral of Cusco. This temple is famous for its baroque-style construction and its long columns that support it. We will continue walking to the Temple of the Sun, Qoricancha, a temple built under the foundations of an Inca temple. Inside you will find small temples dedicated to the moon, the rainbow, among others.

We will continue the tour towards Sacsayhuaman. Upon arrival you will see constructions made of stones over 2 meters high and joined together. This place was considered a military center due to its location and shape. A few meters away we will find Qenqo, a place built on a rock formation to represent the three worlds of the Andean worldview.

Finally we will arrive at Puca Pucara. This was a military center and its name is due to the reddish color it takes at sunset. As a last stop we will visit Tambomachay, in this place the Incas practiced traditions linked to water. From there, we will return to the city and drop you off at your accommodation.
